New Abbey now lead the league by four points with one match to go - they travel to Castle Douglas for the league decider next Tuesday. Castle Douglas have a superior shots difference so a victory by eight points to four will mean they retain the league title, making it seven in a row.  New Abbey were the last team other than Castle Douglas to win the league so they will be all out to regain the title.

Stewartry took on Renfrewshire on Saturday at New Abbey in a rain affected match.  The game was played over just 11 ends due to the weather.  Stewartry had only one losing rink, however they still came out on the losing side by 56 shots to 64.  Results - Stewartry skips first :

Stewartry League Results Tuesday 3rd June

Auchencairn 10 - 2 Dalbeattie
Castle Douglas 10 - 2 Creetown
New Abbey 12 - 0 Gatehouse
Spalding 10.5 - 1.5 Kirkcudbright

New Abbey now lead the league with 53 points ahead of Castle Douglas on 50.  Auchencairn are third on 43 points and are the only other team who can challenge New Abbey.  New Abbey are at home to Spalding next Tuesday, while Castle Douglas go to Auchencairn.  In the final round of matches New Abbey visit Castle Douglas while Auchencairn go to Kirkcudbright.  It promises to be a tight finish!

Stewartry took on section leaders Lanarkshire South at Kirkcudbright on Saturday.  They fought well and led early on, however Lanarkshire stuck to the task better and wore down the Stewartry lads to take the victory 132 - 109.

Castle Douglas ‘B’ win the KBA Cup at Auchencairn on Friday night. Stewartry Vice President Scott McCubbin presented the Cup to Castle Douglas President Lorna Dobbie.

CD were 3 shots up after 7 ends and the same after 14, the game remained tight and finished  CD ‘B’ 19 - Dalbeattie 17

Dalbeattie got off to a good start and lead 6 - 0 after 4 ends but CD picked up 9 shots in the next 4 ends, there after the game was very close with Dalbeattie getting the shot in the last end to win 16 - 15.

CD got off to a good start in this game and lead 6-1 after 5 ends and 13-4 after 10 ends and finnished up winning 17 - 8.

This was another close game 5 -5 after 5 ends, Dalbeattie lead 13 - 9 after 10 ends but CD had the better  of the remaining ends and won 16 - 15
