The KBA Cup Final, held at Creetown on Friday night, was won by Kirkcudbright B by 60 shots to 52. The victory deprived runners up Castle Douglas of a 6th straight win in the competition. Kirkcudbright won the two bowl pairs 22-13 and the four bowl pairs 16-15. The triples ended in a draw 10-10, and Castle Douglas won the fours game 14-12. Kirkcudbright President Tommy Docherty accepted the cup from Stewartry President Jim Maginess.

The format of the KBA Cup has been changed on a trial basis for 2012. Teams consist of 11 players - a 4 bowl pairs, a 2 bowls pairs, a triple and a fours. The 4 bowl pairs and fours will play 17 ends, the 2 bowl pairs 21 ends and the triple 15 ends. The match will be decided on overall shots. If the match is tied then one extra end will be played in each of the formats.

The final of the KBA Cup was played at Spalding on Friday 20th May between Castle Douglas and Creetown. Result (Castle Douglas skip first)

Stewartry President Arthur McFegan congratulated Castle Douglas and presented the cup to their President Hugh Robertson. Castle Douglas have now won the cup for five consecutive years.

The KBA cup semi finals were played on Friday 12th May. Castle Douglas defeated Dalbeattie at Kirkcudbright by 91 shots to 39. At Gatehouse Creetown overcame Auchencairn by a much narrower margin, 69 to 61.
The final is on Friday 19th May at Spalding.
