Dalbeattie foundered on Dumbarton Rock today in the Scottish Inter County Top Ten !!

In the singles Billy McMinn played Kenny Payton in a close game. after 5 ends Billy was 6-4 up and led until the 15 end where he lost a 4 to be 1 shot down at 13-14. The Rock player then scored in the next 4 ends to finish winner at 21-13.

In the pairs Dalbeattie’s Bob Cobban and Alan Harries had a reasonable start and were 4 all after 5 ends but the Rock pair of M. Gilchrist & G. Sloan then had a great run scoring 24 shots to Dalbeattie’s 2 with the game finishing 6-26.

The Dalbeattie triple of Ronnie Gibson, James Curzon & Stevie McMinn were in good form and gave their opponents S. Paton, R. Beattie & D. Allan a hard time. Dalbeattie led 6-1 after 5ends, 10-3 after 10 ends and finished winning 19-3.

In the fours the Dalbeattie rink of Kenny Logan, Ronan Crossan, Dennis McKnight & Stuart Tait had a difficult time against the Rock rink of Alan Brown, Wullie Stewart, Gary Brown & Robert McBride. they were 9-0 down after 5 ends, 18-1 after 10 ends. In the remaining seven ends Dalbeattie managed to score 7 shots to Rock’s 3 to finish 8-21.
