21st May Scottish Inter County Top Ten

Castle Douglas traveled to Aberlady in East Lothian in the 2nd round of the Scottish Top Ten and failed by a whisker to make it to the quarter finals. The final score was 4 points each with Aberlady winning on shot difference 67 - 66.

Stevie Conchar lost the singles on a tricky rink, he was down 14- 3 but pulled back to 14-13 but eventually lost 21-16.

The triples had a struggle against opponents on top of their game and Castle Douglas got no luck from some well played strikes by skip Wull Green. the final score was 18 - 8 to Aberlady.

The Castle Douglas pair of Alan Davies and Allan Green got of to a perfect start with an 8 in the first end and were always in front  but the Aberlady skip in the last end won the tie for his club. Castle Douglas were lying 5 shots and he burnt the end. In the replayed end Castle Douglas were lying 3 shots and with his last bowl he stung the jack to lie 1. The final score: 14 - 21.

This left the Castle Douglas rink playing their last end needing to score 3 shots in the end to win the tie. They managed to score only 1 shot  to finish their game 14 - 21. This was an excelent tie  played in good spirits  and  will be  remembered  for Sharkys leap in the air or maybe for the fact that he made the bus on time.

A good game boys and hard lines.
